About Us & Clinic Policies

Cedarbrae Medical Center was established in 2017 as a medical clinic for providing comprehensive high quality medical care to the Scarborough Community. We aim to provide the best care possible for our patients. Please see our clinic policies below

Outside Use Policy

CedarBrae Medical Center is a Family Health Organization registered with the government. As part of this arrangement, if you see other doctors outside our clinic, we have to pay the government for those visits. (The emergency department visits and specialist visits do not count.)

The Ministry of Health (MOH) routinely notifies us when you seek care with another physician elsewhere ("Outside Use"). Our clinic then has to pay the penalty for you seeking care outside of the clinic.

We have been advised to review the report and to de-roster patients who continue to seek care outside. THIS MAY RESULT IN YOU NOT BEING REGISTERED WITH US.

Please take advantage of our commitment to providing you with the highest level of medical care by calling us FIRST!

No Show Policy

Missing an appointment causes a disruption in the clinic workflow:

  • Time taken by the team member to prepare for your visit is wasted.
  • A patient who has a need for an appointment is prevented from being scheduled. This increases overall wait times for other patients.

If you can’t attend your appointment, please give at least 24-48 hours of notice for cancellations so that we may open that spot for other patients. You can either give the clinic a call at 416-901-6370 or email us at contact@cedarbraemedicalcenter.com, or message through the Ocean link on our website.

If more than one appointment is missed, we will be charging $50.00. This policy is approved by OMA.

Late Show

Appointments are scheduled at 10-minute intervals. Please be punctual with your appointments as any delay from the patient's side can cause a delay for the other patients. If you are running late, the doctor may not be able to accommodate you or provide a full visit.

Bringing Family Members to the Appointments

It is generally better to only have the patient and another attendant if necessary. This avoids disruption and enables the doctor to focus better. Exceptions can be made for children, elderly, and language issues.

Zero Tolerance for Abuse

Staff abuse will result in immediate discharge from practice.

Uninsured Services

OHIP does not cover all services; these can include sick notes, prescriptions for massage, travel-related advice, TB testing for work, and other forms. Please refer to our attached list of fees for uninsured services. You can opt to pay-as-you-go or pay a block fee for the full year.
